OANA
singer, songwriter and electronic musician
Daughter of transitions and constantly in flux, Oana sows the seed of doubt and always plays with words. Her world is dreamy but dystopic, with strong but elegant contrasts; she shapes its limits leaving the door open.
OANA, born in 1992, is an author and composer born on earth. Her style is mainly based on the ability to create a miscellaneous of sounds, through the guide line of her narrative voice. She begins studying jazz and falling in love with songwriters, but the desire of being independent brings her straight into the arms of the synthesizers, which become her “first band”. That’s how OANA finds in electronics and digital algorithms the tools to paint her world, a world in which real and virtual coincide, the perception of time gets frozen, a world in which important things are just a small point in a detached universe.
In 2018 OANA still spends time studying, searching and writing day by day, still alone in her bedroom trying to shape ideas, looking for the courage to bring them out. But one day, thanks to a series of lucky events, she gets her second wind by meeting Angelo di Mino, who encourages her and support the project, becoming the artistic producer.
From their collaboration spring up "I Fiori del Male" the first EP that will be released in February 2021.
“Peculiar and full of diversity, Oana’s lyricism strikes for its capacity to tether extremes sounds (highs and lows, vintage and innovative) with the fil rouge of a fine but uniform voice.” - Traks Musica indipendente
“Oana makes us lose every reference of a monotonous and grey reality, with electronic and dauntlessly pop traits. Perhaps an unaware seductress, (with) provocative echoes resounding in the dark.” - RockOn
“The vocals are the key to the entire EP, immense echoes forming the harmonic structure of seductive songs, while the lyrics are narrated by a delicate voice, which seems to whisper a story to me.” - ROCKIT
